While not everyone makes these mistakes, I think it still happens too often. I've helped several people get interviews for internships (some even at my own firm) and then not hear updates on how things were going.One even got an internship at my office and I didn't know until her first day when the coordinators introduced the new group.I was far from a mentor to her, but she could have at least sent a thank you email when she got the position.
